BARBARA TUCKER
A true queen of house music, Barbara Tucker’s voice is one of the most iconic and enduring of the scene. From underground clubs to global stages, Barbara’s soaring, gospel-infused vocals and electrifying presence have been lighting up dancefloors since the early ’90s. This summer, we’re honoured to welcome her to Defected Croatia, where her legacy and live energy are all set to uplift your summer.
With timeless anthems like ‘Beautiful People’, ‘Love Vibrations, ‘I Get Lifted’ and ‘Most Precious Love’, Barbara’s catalogue reads like a love letter to house music’s soulful core. Perhaps most known as the voice behind one of house’s most iconic samples – ‘Deep Inside’ by Harddrive on Strictly Rhythm, her early collaborations with producers like Louie Vega, Blaze and David Guetta have cemented her place in the genre’s history. Since her iconic career took off, her records have transcended generations, with remixes from the likes of Copyright, Freemasons, Dennis Ferrer, Obskür and heaps more continuing to show the longevity of her voice.
Beyond the booth and stage, Barbara Tucker is a dedicated advocate for the culture, always pushing for authenticity, spirituality, and love in music. Whether leading a crowd into euphoria or mentoring vocalists of the future, she is a beacon of joy and strength in dance music. We’re beyond thrilled to have this vocal powerhouse bless the stage Tisno at Defected Croatia 2025.

Fresh from the ever-evolving Amsterdam scene, Makèz are bringing their smooth, genre-blending sound to Defected Croatia for the very first time. Known for their ability to merge deep house grooves with funk, jazz, and broken beat, the duo have made a name for themselves to house heads in the know with releases on Classic Music Company.
Their most recent Classic hit, 2025’s Loosen Your Bones with Pinty, continues to showcase a sound that feels both fresh and timeless - playful synths, warm basslines, live instrumentation, and an unmistakable Dutch artistry allow their genre-crossing productions to take listeners on a vibrant journey.
As DJs, Makèz channel the same eclectic and genre-expansive energy, weaving together soulful, percussive and jazz-tinged house that keeps dancefloors across the globe locked in and lifted. Their Croatia debut is set to be a sun-drenched celebration of groove and originality - definitely one for the heads and hearts alike.
